Electrification At The Forefront

Manitou Group, a worldwide reference in the handling, aerial work platform and earthmoving sectors, is presenting its new ranges of Manitou semi-industrial and rough-terrain forklifts.

This major evolution marks the arrival of ten new 100% electric models equipped with lithium-ion batteries. Proof of the group’s determination to expand its electric ranges, it is also presenting its 12m electric scissor lift for the first time in Europe. These launches reflect the group’s determination to accelerate its energy transition, with the aim of selling 28% electric machines by 2030.

An agile response to new market imperatives

The launch of the MC (Manitou Compact rough-terrain) and MSI (Semi-Industrial) electric ranges responds to a profound change in customer requirements. Today’s customers are looking for solutions that can evolve between two very distinct environments: the power needed for outdoor applications and the cleanliness required for indoor environments (warehouses, greenhouses, food processing industries).

This dual use is coupled with increasing regulations in urban areas, where the required pollution and noise thresholds sometimes exclude combustion engines. The MC range has thus been enhanced by six models available in both two-wheel and four-wheel drive for the most demanding terrain. This all-terrain range is aimed primarily at the construction, events and agricultural markets.

The MSI range now includes four new semi-industrial models, particularly suited to recycling centers, sawmills and para-agricultural applications. To support this transition, Manitou Group will distribute these electric forklifts starting at the end of 2026. All equivalent combustion-powered models have also been redesigned and will be available by the end of 2026.

Lithium-ion technology: efficiency without constraints

The adoption of lithium-ion technology makes it possible to offer machines with the same footprint as combustion models, guaranteeing the same agility in tight spaces. These batteries offer autonomy ranging from half a day to a full day’s work in two configurations: 29 kWh as standard and 41 kWh for intensive applications. Charging is fully flexible thanks to an on-board 3 kW charger (compatible with a standard 220 V socket), complemented by a 9 kW option for ultra-fast 2.5-hour charging cycles (for a charge time of 20% to 80%). Maintenance-free and covered by a five-year warranty, these batteries maximize profitability and machine availability, adapting perfectly to long-term rental cycles.

Performance and versatility: rough-terrain excellence

The MC e and MSI e models deliver performance comparable to that of the combustion-powered ranges, with load capacities ranging from 1.8 to 3.5 tons and lift heights reaching 5.5 to 6 meters, and all this without the slightest emission of pollutants. Thanks to a state-of-the-art hydrostatic transmission, operators benefit from a very high level of precision in their movements.

The MC e stands out in particular for its 2 or 4-wheel drive capabilities with an oscillating rear axle, while the MSIe is particularly suited to handling long or bulky loads on asphalt or stony ground. On-board technology plays a key role: several driving modes (eco/standard) modulate the machine’s power and responsiveness for better fuel management.

Maintenance costs for these two ranges are halved, and energy costs are reduced by over 60% compared with the combustion-powered ranges, making total cost of ownership considerably more attractive for customers.

Comfort and safety: a premium working environment

The customer experience is taken to a new level with a completely redesigned cabin, common to both ranges, emphasizing space and ergonomics. Mounted on “silent blocks” to filter vibrations, it drastically reduces noise levels, thereby reducing operator fatigue. Access is simple with a single step. The man-machine interface has been optimized, with a new central data display and a cross-shaped lever for intuitive hydraulic control. Manitou Group’s patented JSM joystick is also available as an option. Safety is also optimized, both by the design with a panoramic roof for full overhead visibility and an automatic parking brake, and by optional technologies: reversing radars, cameras and lighting devices (red warning lines, “Bluespot”). All these innovations optimize protection around the machine, giving operators a better view of their environment and enabling them to be seen in all circumstances.

This new electric offering is accompanied by tailored solutions such as preventive maintenance contracts and after-sales service. Provision of electric high-lift telehandlers

The first deliveries of the new MT 1440 e / MT 1840 e electric high-lift telehandlers have been made in Europe. These models complete Manitou’s 100% electric telehandler range and are designed for professionals looking for high performance on site. Powered by a 63.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, the MT 1440 e and MT 1840 e can cover a full day’s work. Both models feature an integrated 9 kW charger and are compatible with Manitou’s 30 kW rapid charger. Their 25 km/h travel speed makes it easy to move from one site to another. The MT 1440 e and MT 1840 e offer lifting heights of 14m and 18m respectively, with a maximum load capacity of 4 tonnes and an offset of 13m. These zero-emission machines meet Low Emission Zone (LEZ) requirements and feature a redesigned cab for improved visibility and reduced noise levels. They are covered by a standard two-year warranty, with 70% battery capacity guaranteed after five years of use.

Extending the range of electric scissor lifts

Manitou Group completes its “Oxygen” electric range with the launch of the SE 1212 scissor lift. This new 12-meter working height model reinforces a range already comprising 8-meter (SE 0808) and 10-meter (SE 1008) versions. With a lifting capacity of 350 kg and up to three operators, this versatile aerial work platform is designed for indoor and outdoor applications on stabilized ground. It meets a wide range of needs, from renovation and building maintenance to warehouse logistics and events.

Equipped as standard with 5.76 kWh batteries, it is autonomous for a full working day (8 hours minimum) without interruption and requires less maintenance, meeting the productivity and decarbonization requirements of rental companies and manufacturers.

Harmonization of the CSP platform

To enhance the experience of its rental and key account customers, Manitou Group is upgrading its service offering by optimizing its Customer Service Platform (CSP).

Accessible via a unified digital platform, this system offers each customer a single point of contact who mobilizes a network of local experts identified by the group to meet all their needs: commissioning, maintenance, warranty and machine overhaul.

Thanks to real-time tracking of each intervention and automatic notifications at every stage, rental companies and key accounts benefit from complete visibility of their requests. Deployed in Germany, the new platform will be extended to Benelux and the UK in the summer of 2026, and will also be available in France starting in 2027.
