This course has been designed to assist management to implement and maintain a Safe Lifting Program in the work place. The contents have been carefully selected to cover all the issues that are relevant for management to be legally compliant and for lifting equipment used, to conform to relevant Standards and industry requirements.

It will assist management, supervisors, technical, safety and engineering staff to do so. The course covers the different types of lifting equipment, namely power driven lifting machines, hand powered lifting devices, lifting tackle and relevant lifting issues and requirements for use, inspection and testing.
A Safe Lifting Program includes the following elements, namely to use the correct lifting equipment, to train operators to use it correctly, to keep proper records, to inspect and maintain correctly, to comply with legal requirements and relative SANS as well as the users written operating procedures (SOP)

Accreditation: This course is unique and no formal accreditation, in terms of SAQA or NQF requirements exist for such a specialized lifting equipment advanced management and technical short course. The course is endorsed by LEEASA as essential for the lifting tackle component of LMI training. Registration with ECSA for CPD, through LEEASA is pending.
