Same 1010 fine-grain steel, same dimensions, same test regime. The only decision is how much corrosion protection the job needs - & both finishes come from the same production line, so neither is a second choice.
STC-B: Black oxidised
The workshop standard. Indoor rigging, dry storage & general lifting where the assembly is inspected & maintained.
STC-G: Galvanised
For weather & water. Marine, offshore, outdoor structures & anywhere the assembly stays exposed between inspections. No new die sets needed – both finishes swage with your existing STC die sets.
