Enerpac Cube Jacks Enable Complex Multi-beam Lift In Restricted Height Environment

PHL Hydraulics UK Ltd, a specialist engineering solutions company, recently completed a complex 3-meter incremental lift of large structural steel beams at a construction project in North West London. Installing the beams in a highly constrained environment was achieved by deploying six Enerpac Cube Jacks to lift synchronously lift and position multiple beams, avoiding costly project delays.

Tasked with overcoming the challenge of lifting heavy structural cross beams where space was limited and traditional crane access impossible, PHL Hydraulics utilized its Enerpac SCJ-100 Cube Jacks. Two 100-ton capacity SCJ-100 cube jacks were positioned at the ends of two beams which in turn crossed above two further beams perpendicularly supported by four SCJ-100 cube jacks. The entire crossed beams arrangement, weighting 65 T, was then lifted synchronously.  

 

“The compact yet powerful design of the 100-ton cube jacks allowed us to execute a controlled, synchronised lift within the confined space, providing the precision and stability the project demanded,” said Shefit Shehu, project manager, Keltbray. “The result was a smooth, efficient, and safe lifting operation. The accuracy of the hydraulic system allowed us to position the steel exactly as required, significantly reducing installation time and eliminating the complications we would have faced using traditional methods.”

PHL Hydraulics UK Ltd is currently the only company in the UK to own and operate the Enerpac SCJ-100 Cube Jack system, allowing it to offer specialist lifting solutions up to 800T where conventional methods are impractical.
